CANbus gauge- Why haven't I taken advantage?

My 3 year old AEM infinity 506 ecu has a CANbus output (which I think consists of two wires total). This means that another device can connect to those two wires and in turn receive data from dozens of channels - AFR, IAT, CHT, Boost pressure, Fuel Press, Oil Pressure, MAP, Flex fuel content %, RPm, Knock Feedback, etc. etc.

I've found a couple of gauges that claim to work with my ECU's CANbus to display these items. AEM's X-series gauge, and BTI's Can Bud gauge

The price for AEM's is hard to beat but the BTI gauge looks better and is available in 60mm. I'd like to eventually get one and put it where the clock is currently. Don't have much use for a clock that looses 10 minutes every 12 hours anyway....

Anyone have experience with these two gauges or something similar?
