Yes all versions of Dexron are backward compatible.
However I would spend a little more and get more than than the basic fluid and get the best.
RedLine, Mobile 1 Synthetic ATF, Valvoline Synthetic ATF, etc.
You don't want to be replacing or rebuilding your 30 year old transmission.
