I had a 67 912 and had to replace the driver side regulator. The teeth on the gear were worn away. I found that 67 is an "oddball" year and only 67 regulators work. Be careful not to damage yours.
I made the mistake of removing them thinking they were part of the regulator. I used a putty knife and a lot of patience.
Why are you removing the channel from the glass?
When I put it back together, I put some 3M adhesive and carefully compressed it with channel locks. I then used a wood clamp with 2 pieces of plywood to sandwich the sides of the metal making sure the adhesive had time to cure.
Good luck, David
