I started out my 914 life with a stock '76 2.0 with the stock exhaust, old and tired but worked well and was quiet. Then went to a Bursch, oops! The unit started rusting before I opened the box, and the sound and power were both off. Then my car was stolen and stripped. When I rebuilt it, I put in a 2.0 six with a stock banana, good, quiet sound and good power, then went to a single outlet (no longer in production) from Triad. Noticable seat of pants power and a much more "porsche" sound, not loud. Then went to a 2.7 six and ran the same single outlet from Triad for a while and decided to try the dual outlet Triad. The sound is all Porsche, low and strong, and the power is awesome. By the way the single outlet I took of the six was run for 11 years without a problem. No rust, and no appriciable sound increase, The unit is now in the archive at Triad if you want to take a look at it. The Triad unit is painted in 1500 VHT paint and holds up well, If you want a differant coating on a triad unit I am sure Dave could ship it without paint.
I will run a Triad exhaust as long as I have an air cooled Porsche!!
This got a little long but I hope it helps.
