At Bruce's suggestion I was able (fortunately) to determine that my 2.2 S piston skirts were already trimmed.

Were you running a cooler of sorts? I posted this question on 914World and got a variety of responses. I am not planning initially to run a cooler (at least up front as I don't want to "cut" my 6) till I determine what kind of temps I am going to see. I will be doing most of my driving at 5,000 ft. If necessary, there are some alternative cooler applications/locations I can consider. Without question I will build the engine utilizing the smallest fan pulley and largest crank pulley to force more air over the cylinders than the factory configuration. This helped lower the temps on my 2.7 911 by 20 degrees F. Additionally the PO was running a 2.7 RS spec carbed-engine in this car when I purchased it...with no cooler and he was an avid auto-crosser.
