Leave the grommets in place. Put a really small coating of silicone paste inside them. No blobs, just a coating. Leave the MC loose on the studs with the nuts just started on the threads and hanging down as much as possible. Grab the line closest to the bulkhead with needlenose visegrips and work it all the way into the grommet. Tighten the nuts and do the other line the same way.
