We were in South Africa on safari about 10 years ago. We were taken through the bush in these huge extended wheelbase Range Rovers. The driver said that they were switching over to an Indian company, Mahindra, because they were far cheaper and lasted longer than the RR. Tough, off road capability is part of the entire RR ethos. If you are losing in that space....they why do you exist? There are already a bazillion other luxury brands, with much better reputations.

On Safari last February..... nothing but Toyota’s. Never saw a Range Rover.
