Drawback to gas is you need to make sure you run good fuel or run it often enough to cycle fuel through it. Like any other small engine you risk gumming up the carb if you don't run good fuel in it. Another thing is the starter motor. There are brushes that need replaced. I researched golf carts when I was buying one for my mom to use. I ended up going with gas because I figure I can service it for them and don't have to worry about them plugging it in or the batteries running low/out on the back 40.
A family friend who sells used carts strongly suggested EZ GO as did a friend that owns a golf course. I don't recall why exactly but they both indicated they are good carts.
Want me to talk to my family friend and see if I can hook you up with a deal? I'd guess with the closure of campgrounds in OH that he'll be looking to offload some inventory. I bought mine basically untouched. He checked it out to make sure it was solid. I serviced it and then gave it to my parents.
