There's some very cool stuff getting done, nice work!!
One of my to-do's has been the clear out/clean up the attic.
We had a new roof installed about 5 years ago now and the process of removing the OEM shake roof left a heck of a mess all over everything up there.
I knew it was going to be an archeological dig of sorts since the collection of stuff pretty much only been added to and included some of my Father's most cherished personal belongings. He passed back in 1979. My Son and I took time as items were brought down to go through and talk about what we were seeing. Turned out to be a very good experience.
My son did most of the heavy work and the cleaning... hefting a shop vac up and down from there was great fun.
My dad was an artist, photographer, writer, tooled leather etc, etc.
I got none of his creativity other than some level of ability to point a camera in generally the correct manor at times. My Son did get more creativity than I...
Dad's leather supply (still in perfect shape) and leather working tools were up there along with some partially complete leather projects. Holding the mallet he used to tool leather with had an almost electrical feel... brought back the sounds of him working away and the smell of leather only increased the connective feeling. It's been over 40 years since the last time I remember him doing any leather tooling. It only seemed like yesterday.
Also, some history.
Travel info for Canada, the Boeing news from first flight of the 747 and a playbill from one of many plays Dad worked on building sets and running lights.
I remember when Dad bought this metal detector, he was sure he'd more than pay for it with "finds". Not so much from what I recall- the box turned into a home for many of his effects.
Also some of my history- I had forgot some spare VW parts I'd hung onto.
About a third of the stuff is headed to the dump, a third will be donated and a third cleaned and returned to the attic- tons of room up there now... I'll endeavor not to refill it!
