I plug my tires as required, so far no issues with any of them. Most extreme was on my GS during a trip and had three plugs in one hole but did make the rest of the trip with, again, no issues.
Like Jim I just let the rears go, fronts I'd rather change.
I haven't heard of plugs blowing out, leaking maybe.
