Once you know it is fused, you are safe from real problems. Most likely it will just freeze up, and the motor will have to be replaced. It is not a serviceable motor. You can pull it apart, and oil the bearing, and it will be quiet for a little while, but it will start acting up again.
If you look at the wires going to it, and see no fuse, unplug it, until you get a chance to fuse it.
Start looking for the replacement motor. You will need one. Just take it apart, and the motor is fairly easy to swap, but it is rather pricey.

Do you have this "fuse add-on kit" link or part number - could not find it. Im sure mine does not have it - its pretty unmolested.
