Exact same problem
I went into a gas station a little too hot, wheel turned and when i hit the bump, the tire "ripped" the fender.
As john said, too wide a wheel/tire combo, or too low. The factory has this all figured out - but when we change things, "stuff" happens.
Fortunately, it wasn't my dad's 911, it was just my old hot rod 308 - cranked up the front spring perches, re cornerweighted the car/aligned it and all is well.
