Replacing tensioner arm dowel pin

Does anyone have the process for replacing the pivot pin (Dowel Pin #996-010-117-53) on a 996. This is the pin which the crank /IMS chain tensioner arm swings on. I assumed it is pressed in but what is the best method to remove? Should it be done like removing guides in a head by machining off the step and pressing out in the direction it was installed?
