Thank you. Yes, I find iTunes very frustrating. It might make more sense to just get an MP3 player. But one of my goals is the ability to play music from a hand-held player, or from my MacBook Air. I do not know how to play music in my Mac without using iTunes. In fact, I don't know much about computers and I may just go to a trusted computer business for consultation, so that I might know what my options are.
There is only 80 GB of free space on the Mac's HD. I have about 300 GB of music. The last thing I tried was to connect the MAC to an external HD containing this music, and pointing iTunes there. Nope. It filled the HD and locked up. There may be a way that I can use iTunes with an external HD, and still avoid locking up the Mac internal HD.
