For me, it wasn't really financial. I guess, in the end, it could boil down to a desire to simplify things. Loved everything about the old 911S for a long time. But as it entered the "collector car" world, becoming more sought after by others, with it's dollar value going up, it simply became less and less enjoyable to own and drive. It attracted a few folks I frankly didn't like much...yet every P-car event I went to, there was this one guy and his few "church" followers.
Final straw was one phone call from a person who flat out told me I was going to sell to him, even told me how much he'd pay, but leaving me a window to up the price. I hung up on the bastid, then contacted Evren...got the promise the car would never leave Turkish soil in exchange for a very much friend's price.
I miss the car as far as driving goes...but really no regrets, since I no longer have to put up with the flippers and pimps of the early 911 world. There are much higher moral standards in a pool hall than those guys have.
(edit) So..it goes beyond "no regrets". I'm glad the car is gone. It had become an albatross around my neck.
