The thought of simplifying is very tempting and something I have been thinking about for a while. Not just simplifying the garage but also cleaning out stuff in the house we no longer need or use.
Even when I lost some of my desire to wrench anymore, my husband continued to find it satisfying so there was no reason to bring it up. I think this was just a catalyst to start clearing things from the garage.
Our lives are changing: we have a son half way through college. I've been at home for the last 20 years raising our son but returned to nursing school, which I will finish up in December. I have a job I love that will hopefully will move to a promotion and fully time once school is done.
Sometimes you have to move on from one thing to get something else you are shooting for. I see letting go of some of the cars as a way of shifting focus.
In the end, they are just things. Most important to me, spending my time with my husband, enjoying our empty nest time together in whatever comes next.
