If you remove the power lock solenoid from the door latch/lock assembly, you will find that there is a minor issue with no longer being able to lock the doors manually with the key.
The key in the door handle turns an arm that has a pin on it, when you turn the key in the handle the pin bears upon a few tangs on a doohickey on the door latch. On a pure manual car there are two tangs (one for lock, one for unlock) on the doohickey and on a power lock car there is only one (for unlock).
I solved this on my Rot Rod with a strategically placed zip tie or two. There are probably better ways to do this.
Great looking project!!

By window channel, are you referring to the window frame?
Yes, I'm familiar with the single vs. double tang issue with the door latch. I'll acquire double tang latches for reassembly. Although, I am intrigued about your zip tie workaround! Any more details on that?
Thanks, I'm enjoying having this project...
