Fasten seat belt light
I decided to try to get the "fasten seat belt" light on the dash to operate normally. Like most '74-76 914's, mine has had the ignition/seatbelt logic relay removed from under the passenger seat, and the two large ignition wires (Yellow and Yellow/Red) have been connected together. After consulting the wiring diagrams in the Haynes Manual, I connected the small yellow/red wire (from the seat belt light) and green/white wire (from the driver's seat belt switch) together. With the key on and one of the doors open, the "fasten seat belt" light comes on normally and goes off when I buckle up (good!). However, this circuit seems to be connected to the door switches for the interior light as well because when the doors are closed the "fasten seat belt" light goes out as well. Any ideas?
