On the other hand, if you want to own the finest example of 18th Century technology put into a 21st Century presentation, you buy a Rolex or a Patek. Hamilton is very nice and all, but it doesn't have the technology of a Rolex. Nothing wrong with that, but no one with a Rolex is arguing that someone shouldn't buy and enjoy a Hamilton. It's kind of like valuing a car that was designed to 1930's standards and somehow found a way to remain relevant into the 1970s.
