r1100s muffler on a r1100r?
Hello All,
My latest acquisition is a '00 r1100r that I am cleaning up. I don't use aftermarket parts as a rule, using only parts that factory engineers have access to. And by 'cleaning up', I mean eliminating cluttered lines and simplifying functions without compromising results. Basically, trying to create the prototype the design department wanted before the other departments put their 2 cents on it.
All that being said, whoever had the bike before me eliminated the cat and put an aftermarket muffler on. So I'm looking at mufflers from different models, and looking at alternative locations to install on the r1100r, and notice the bike would look much better if a boxy muffler was in the space between the centerstand and the drivetrain, with dual tips that end before the rear wheel. As it turns out, the r1100s muffler looks like it fits this purpose perfectly, but I'm not sure if the dimensions are too large for the space. Online searches turn up nothing, so I'm hoping someone here has some advice or direction.
