You should watch ‘em at sunrise when they drop, as God is my witness, like sacks of wet cement from their roosts 30 feet up the trees in the woods. They try to sorta glide/flap/drop and unsuccessfully avoid branches on the way down.
Upon contact they stumble around a bit, shake off their displaced feathers and be on their merry way one by one.
