Before I grew a beard I used to shave every day. By far the best shave was from a safety razor I have a Mercur handle which has a little heft to it and feels good in your hand.
Shark blades run $20 for 100. I would typically put a new blade in every week, despite the fact that the old blade was still good @$20 for 100 I didn't care I just changed them out. I have tried other blades as well I found the Sharks to be just right, Feather blades were extremely sharp, I could never get the hang of them.
I still use it to trim around the beard, I have not bought blades in 5 years now since I barely use it anymore.
