Probably load aggregation so they can bid more efficiently into the wholesale market. The wholesale energy price in New England has gone up a lot over the past few months. Some companies have gotten out because they don’t want to lose their shirt on selling power at a fixed cost.

Reading about deregulation in MA. this seems really weird. You're supposed to choose your supplier. It's weird that yours is randomly changing.

He could just use his distribution company (Eversource) and have a variable rate that is set by the state regulators. It changes based on the wholesale cost of energy.
