Yep - only one course here. Tear it down.
The guide will also have flogged the fitting in the head. It will need replacement ones machined down to the appropriate tolerance for the damaged seats - which will probably need to be cleaned up as well. Basically match interference fits.
If you try some temp remedy as you suggest, you will just make things worse.
Be prepared for 'while you are in there'........
