My recollection of this nut is that it is all-steel and that it is shorter than the Nyloc nuts that hold the valve covers on. This is all from memory. But...I also think the Nyloc nut is also a steel nut, but with a plastic seal at the outer edge. the distal or lateral edge, if you will. So yeah, it probably doesn't make a big difference. Those wedge bolts are HARD to remove so I wouldn't expect one to fall out. Still, if I had a plain steel nut, I would use that instead.
