Being from the south, sweet tea was required. My mom would boil some water, add several Lipton bags of tea to the pan, and then mix it in a gallon pitcher of water. Then it was 5-6 scoops of sugar. When we moved to Connecticut in the early 60s, her sweet tea was famous in the neighborhood. Kids loved it.
I rarely drink it now, but if I do, it’s sweet tea at a restaurant or peach tea at home.
