I had a talk with my dad this morning about the subject. Here's the skinny on shredded potatoes and hash browns.
Joe Rogers Sr., a former VP of the Toddle House, and founder of the Waffle House, brought over many of the Toddle House menu items, but hash browns was not one of them. WH decided to brown shredded potatoes. There you go.
Interestingly enough, through my conversation this morning, I now know how to make real hash browns from scratch.
