Only saw him once, but it was memorable. Back in 1969,
The Jeff Beck Group played the Schaefer Music Festival in NYC's Central Park. Tickets were just $3. On vocals, with his wild hair and pink jumpsuit, was a then-little-known singer named Rod Stewart. This was shortly before he joined
The Faces and a couple years before
Every Picture Tells a Story put him on the map.
