I tried to start my car today and did not hear the fuel pumps come on. I went to pull the relay and the cover came off I pushed the tab together and the pumps came on and the car fired up let go of the plate on the relay and it stalled. I borrowed a relay from a friend and the car started for a second and then that relay went bad. What would cause a fuel pump relay to instantly go bad when power is put to it any ideas?
