You may want to check your CV joints as well: If they haven't been replaced, the grease in them is very old, and you may have some pitting on the joints, given your *ahem* driving style.

Besides the clunking sound that 924Sman stated, you may also hear a clicking or ticking sound if your CV joints are going.
