Libby (library app) anyone?
Maybe (probably) I'm behind the times but I just learned that my local library supports the Libby app. It allows checking out and reading books and magazine online - no great shakes there.
What impressed me though are - breadth of magazines available - I am seeing magazines from outside the US that I do not recall ever seeing a physical copy of at the local library
- ability for multiple library patrons to read a magazine concurrently - I'd occasionally visit the library on a whim to flip through the latest copy of Cooks Illustrated only to find that another patron was reading it. It sure is nice to read magazines truly on demand on a tablet.
The content available likely depends on the licensing arrangements your local library has made but I've taken a liking to the British magazine "Car Mechanics" which is a DIY-ish magazine on car maintenance.
Cheers,
