LEDs seem like an upgrade compared to 55w halogens. But 100w Hellas are just as bright as LEDs and they're $6 on Amazon. So they're cheaper than LEDs and don't make your classic look like you shop at pep boys. Yes, they're illegal, but so are LEDs, euro tail light lenses, SSI backdates, and that splash of leaded race gas I toss in there for the fun smells.
They do require relays but you should install those no matter what bulbs you're running.
