911SC - Clutch Pedal Height

Hi guys, I recently replaced my clutch cable and rebuilt my pedal cluster with new bushings, springs, and a clutch arm. I adjusted the cable per procedure, but one area I found differing opinions on was keeping the pedal wedged “up” while completing the cable adjustment (in my case, I did).

All seems well with engagement, measurements double checked, etc., except my pedal is now much more perpendicular to the floor than it was previously and essentially at the same level as the brake pedal. From reading other posts, it seems this is the correct orientation, but is there one right way, or is there any way to get the pedal back to a more natural position for a resting foot (more parallel to the floor).

Separately, the pedal seems a bit stiffer. I assume that’s somewhat normal with a new return spring replacing one that’s 160k miles/40 years old, but any similar experience?
