Once got a 'no headlight' fix-it ticket in SF. I'd just replaced a radiator in a Civic and forgot a connection. Shame on me. Cop pulled me over at early dusk when 90% of the cars weren't even using headlights yet. I plugged it in and he replied
"I already wrote the ticket". Went to a local station and got it signed off after making an officer walk outside. Then I stood in line for over an hour at City Hall. They reduced the fine from $25 to $10. Sigh.
