2 years ago, the fuel pump in my ‘73 Targa began to leak profusely. I knew that the hoses would crumble as soon as I tried to remove them, so I embarked upon a fuel line and pump replacement project. With encouragement and a ton of help and guidance from Len Cummings and advice from scores of fellow forum followers, I moved the fuel pump up front, replaced the tank with one with the cutaway for the pump and replaced all the lines.
A wiring harness from Timmy2 let me connect the front mounted pump in a way that looked factory.
I thought I’d post a few pictures so you guys can tell me what a great job I did!
The front mounted pump looked a little exposed to me so I finished it off with a skid plate.
After sitting for two years, I had some work to do to get the car going again, but now it’s running like a top.
