^^^ Yup.
I went to my first HS reunion since I graduated from HS 50 years ago...reunion was last month.
Not 50 Cent, 50 years! Yikes.
A few things jumped out at me:
- My HS class at the Catholic HS I graduated from had 70 graduates, 12 of which had passed away before the reunion.
- There were any number of husbands, wife's and brothers and sisters of the attendees that have passed as well...many I knew well back in the day.
What struck me was the resilience: There were easily five folks who had lost wife's and husbands and had remarried, some just years ago...I believe you can't fake happiness; no one was, they all seemed delighted to have found the next chapter, solace.
I have no words of wisdom other than the old Yiddish proverb: "People plan, God laughs".
Or, an old Navy saying: "Attack, don't track..."
Or, from my Scottish/Welsh mix of a Grandfather: "You need to schite, stand or stampede, Son..."
I'll stop
Revel in what you can influence, plan for what you can't.
