That was Francois Cevert, Jackie Stewart's teammate. Apparently he was a real lady killer, to quote Stewart and his involvement with women: "
He did so much damage"
Edit - it was Helmut Koinigg that was decapitated in '74. Cevert (pictured below) perished in 1973 at Watkins Glen under similar circumstances.
