In my car, I have also replaced the following:
1. WEVO classic 930 shifter - this comes with a new cylindrical cup that goes in the shift rod.

2. WEVO shift rod coupler in the back seat like Mocker shows you above.

Both of the WEVO items are available from our host and the bushing replacement that David showed you above will help to reduce free play along the shift lever mechanism. The WEVO shifter will also center the shifter in the 1-2 shift plane and helps to eliminate the slop.
One note, the WEVO has a 'short shift' type geometry, so it is going to be kinder to your synchros if you slow down ever so slightly between gears.
Between the 930 transmission rebuild and the WEVO items, there really isn't any slop in the shifter and the car shifts great. The primary reason that I'm still thinking about a G50 swap is because I'd like one more useful gear around town.
