There is no vapor that can get in there that quickly. Think about it. Things are at 200+F, there is no way it can be vapor.
As Stijn says, they should only smoke after sitting for a longer period, e.g. overnight. If it smokes at startup after shutting it down for 15 minutes, I'd say RUN, don't walk, RUN from it!!!
