Continuing the search
I took Mark's advce and started to look at a Ducati ST3. Interestingly enough, one of the dealers is really pushing the Multistrata. I am going to get out for a test ride on the Multistrata, the ST3, and the ST4S/ABS.
I have been warned that the ST4 is not well mannered under 80 miles an hour. It has the super bike engine in it.
Its worth checking them out to see if I would bond with them or not. Meanwhile, I am leaning toward picking up an 04 S. My reasoning is this:
By the time all of the bugs have been knocked out of whatever replaces it, it will be a year or two. By the time I would want to trade for another bike it will be 3+ years. The GS is a great bike but the S is what really felt best to me (of the BMWs). Why force myself to adopt something that I don't bond with.
