Not entirely correct... It really depends on how you go about it. If you try to do all steel then you will get a small weight hit. However, if you do all of the removable panels in FG or CF, replace windows with lexan etc... Then your talking a whole different animal. Do you want a wide body street car, or a track car. How "correct" do you want the replica? You can do a great looking, fast, track/semi street car, somewhat reasonably. I plan to spend around 25,000 on mine when I'm all done. The starter was an 82 sunroofless coupe I purchased for 6500.00... LOTS of time and $$$ to go!!!

GT Racing is probably the most comprehensive source of parts for any of the versions of car you are talking about. They have a good rep on the board, some will say "race only" for their parts, but I have a full IROC with duck on my street car... Parts were great.
