I've had a 76 930 for almost 20 years. The first thing I did was put an intercooler and k-27 in. That made a bunch of difference in how soon the boost came in and the whallop it put when it came in. I am a guy who has done everthing conceivable to a 76 that can be done. I know John Walker has issues with the 76 and 77's and can correct all my $$ mistakes by telling you to steer clear. In all those years I've had the beast I've only spent 45K getting it where it will put the whup ass on any Turbo out there regardless of the year. Go with the Big Ass Reds in the for sure. I went with Ruf front and rear spoilers, and a Turbo S tail. Where it used to get squirrely at 150+ its ass is planted like a hippo. Huge oil cooler to fill that opening in the front. I live in Texas and can run at boost for extended periods of time without ever getting close to hot. Of course you'll want to go to an aftermaket exhaust which has been discussed here on the board thousands of times. Delete all the BS stuff that probably doesn't work anyway and you have a 2500 lb rocket. All I know is I can cover a measured mile (on a closed course of course) in about 19.5 seconds. But it also has the cams, bigger valves, is a 3.2 with higher compression, this, that and some other crap I forget about. The boys that built the engine tell me the 76 and 77's could flow higher fuel rates etc, so can make more power than later models. John Walker can verify that. I do know if you spend enough you can turn a sows ear into a silk purse. It's only $$$$$$$$$$
