What should be included in the perfect tool kit?
A cell phone and the number of a good towing service (tow strap and best friends phone number might do); a snack to eat and the latest Craftsman catalogue to read while you wait for the tow.
[Okay, seriously…]
Think about the things that could go wrong, and that you could fix on the road, and go from there. An extra clutch cable isn’t all that bad of an idea, and I’ve heard it suggested time and again, but do you really want to be underneath your car supported by a tire jack? Are you going to have jack stands with you? Probably not.
I’d include Fix-A-Flat, a regular old basic tool kit, electrical tape, maybe an extra fan belt?
Oh, and a hammer. They always seem to come in handy when working on the 914 in the garage. [More sarcasm…]
