Mike - yeah, I'm positive about the cause of the sticking. It's the brass butterfly plate chewing into the bore of the t/b. There's even a rough groove worn into the bore. The reason it does this is because there is no stop designed into the body for the butterfly valve to rest against at 100% closed. The slightly angled edge of the plate itself acts as the stop. Poor design. If you have one that doesn't dig in, I'm interested.
