This sounds to me quite normal - there were some previous posts last month.
It's the Pivot bearing between the shaft housing and the rear diff housing. There needs to be a tiny amount of play I think. The bearing is an adjustable roller type, and shud be torqued at the major services. My BM expert reckons they are a common wear item, and shud be last til arnd 40000 miles.
