Master cylinder I.D.
Okay, I'm ground up rebuilding my '73. Just rebuilt the calipers and was weighing my options with the master cylinder, rebuild it or buy a new 19mm one. The one that came with the car when I bought it (basket case) was a little dirty, but didn't show any signs of leakage. I "ASS-UMED" it was a stock 17mm one, and opted to go ahead and buy a new 19mm (Pelican Parts) one, instead of rebuilding the old one. Now comes my question: Is there any way of Identifing a 17mm master cylinder from a 19mm? If it's what I think it is (a big 19 cast into the bottom of the M/C body), then it appears that I now have 2 19mm master cylinders. After a little wirebrush clean-up on the old one it looks exactly like the new one I just bought. If this is the case, my next question is: Does anyone want to buy a slightly dirt, none leaking, used 19mm M/C? because I appear to have a spare now.
