Air Intake for Carrera 3.2

I know couple of guys have put lots of info on the forum about the usefulness of a 'cool' air intake, even tbiz put some data abt the intake air, etc.

A couple of day ago, I went to my local hardware store and bought a foot length of aluminium semi rigid 4" pipe. I slotted one end into the intake tube and routed the other end to sit up below the right side of the Carrera tail.

As the pipe is semi rigid, all that is holding the pipe to the intake is a simple 4" clamp.

It cost me abt 5 bucks in all. Don't think there much performance diff, but I have noticed that my oil temp do not go much over the 90C mark nowadays even with aircon on and in traffic. On the move, the temp is usually below the mark. The ambient temps here are in the 27C to 33C.

Its rains here often and it seems ok. The pipe has enough slack in it so that water can still dribble out from the end. And since the stock air intake is in place, it would take lots of water before any can get over the lower 'lip' of the air intake.

Dont have a digital cam but used my phone cam to snap these pixs.

Cheers
