Ben: I used to do just that, then I had a back injury. Now I can only lift 25 pounds safetly. Musseling around a motor and tranny is out of the question. This makes it easy for me to move the hole package with one hand. And as far as using all thread to steady it nothing like that is nedded. Just line it up with your motor mount bolts and jack it up until it starts to tilt, then check your tranny mounts and line them up and bolt is in. Easy one handed job. Thats why VW made one. It saved time and that made money.
