If I am reading this correctly, your project is what is referred to as a 3.6 transplant. There are numerous threads about this; check the archives.
BTW, if my information is correct, you need a 'short bellhousing' 915 tranny to mate your 993 engine into a '72. I know, I was about to do the same thing. My engine is still engineless, in the garage.
