Wouldn't someone surely see this when repairing accident damage? Any work done to the inner fender or suspension or wheel well would certainly seem to make this jump out at you.

I'll check to see if there is any obvious repair work in this area, and in the meantime assume you are right. If so, should be an easy fix.

By the way, do you think this could be caused by suspension travel or tire wear?
